Starting a New Club...

IOC will accept applications for new clubs in February 2018.

Submitted applications will be considered for new clubs for the 2018/19 school year.


Please read the club requirements & instructions below.  

Club Requirements:
  • Must be an original and unique idea (check club list below)
  • Cannot conflict with any other club on campus (Example: medical causes will conflict with HOSA, FMP, etc.; multi-cultural clubs would conflict with PRIDE, etc.)
  • Must have a teacher sponsor (teacher cannot sponsor more than 2 clubs on campus; must also attend all club meetings, events, etc.)
  • Must elect or appoint officers
  • Must create club bi-laws (template available on above)
  • Must attend monthly IOC meetings
  • Must submit IOC Monthly Club Reports
  • Must adhere to all IOC Club Rules & Requirements included in the IOC Handbook (please review - link above)
  • Founding officers must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or higher)
  • Founding officers must be in good conduct standing (no disciplinary issues)
Procedure to Start a Club:
  • Verify club is original, unique and does not conflict with any other established club on campus
  • Find a teacher to sponsor your club
  • Complete a club application (must be typed, see below)  
  • Application:  **CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD**
  • Obtain at least 20 signatures from students at Cypress Bay who support and would be interested in joining proposed club (signature page is included in application)
  • Create Club bi-laws/constitution (attach to application)
  • Submit to IOC for review  (IOC is located in Room 146)

Other Information:

  • Once submitted, allow two weeks for review. You will be notified via email once a decision has been made. 
  • What if my club proposal is denied?   Don't let your idea fade away...visit one of our current clubs and share your idea.  Clubs are always looking for ways to expand.
